About Us
Humble Haven Farm
Our Farm
Sustainable Farming since
2016
We moved to our home in Sullivan in 2016. Our son Tomas, who is now our farm manager, began raising pigs and chickens right away. Meanwhile, he was reading many books by Joel Salatin outlining his pasture-based model and watching hours of his online mentor Justin Rhodes learning the practical skills that are necessary for daily animal care. Our farm has benefited greatly from the generous influence of these two men. Each year we have increased the number of animals we are raising and the number of customers that we can serve. While we were learning and growing we were asking God to show us if we should consider making this a full-time adventure for our whole family. Unexpectedly at the beginning of 2021, Neal lost his job, and Humble Haven Farm was launched as our family business. Since that time we have added pasture-raised turkeys and farm and automotive shop services.

Our Story
A Journey of Healing
Many years ago when our children were young we served as missionaries, originally in Bolivia and lastly in Arizona. After the birth of our 6th child Karen's health started to decline. Many drastic changes to our lifestyle later, which included a move back here to her hometown area, we began to understand in a very personal way how important what you eat is to your overall health. After many years and help from a holistic doctor, her health has slowly improved and God sent two more children into our lives. Now we are determined to help others who are taking responsibility for their food choices by providing clean, nutrient-dense meat for their family and ours. To our great joy, our children are growing up, getting married, and becoming adults. We are delighted when they are able to join in our farm and vision for serving our local community.
